In 1950, Dr. Henry Hedrick launched into Indian ministry by producing a movie exposing the poverty, injustice and religious persecution on the Jemez Reservation. During the 50’s and 60’s the movie and a fleet of 5 buses were the vehicle used to raise the awareness of Indian issues. Then in 1965 Dr. Hedrick began a local radio broadcast, The American Indian Hour, out of Long Beach, California. The response was so great that within months he had a national radio program which became the new vehicle to further the cause of Christ. Since then the
Indian Crusader
has been feeding, teaching and providing care to the American Natives
ever since.
