"..Winning the Lost at any cost.."

  Feb. 14th - 16th 2003

Last weekend, the Indian Crusader where honored to be part of the annual mission conference hosted by the Greater Height Mission Bible Church in Los Angeles.

This wonderful event saw several days of scripture, prayer, worship and testimony from each of the missionaries that "Greater Height" supports and is involved with, not to mention, with some of the "best" hospitality and food this writer has ever experienced (are there any leftovers?).

The Indian Crusader was blessed today as we partook in the 4 day event that honored the ministries that this church has been involved in. The Indian Crusaders are one of the many partnerships that they sponsor and support.

The Evening started off with a word from Senior Pastor Calvin Sills where he spoke about the past years events and the many individuals that where, to coin a phrase that the event used as it's slogan, "...Winning The Lost At Any Cost.."

Next, Basil Gaynor (President, The Indian Crusader), spoke about the great things that the Crusader is presently pursuing this year bringing up many of the individuals that are taking part of the crusader.

We then heard from Native Gospel Band in both song and testimony. In fact, it was mentioned that one of the Native Gospel bands songs, performed by the youngest member, had helped many on various occasions by way of the radio, that callers had called in to say how up-lifting and wonderful the songs about Jesus are.

We are looking forward to bringing you more on this wonderful group in the near future.

Another wonderful highlight of the evening was when Pastor Sills and his wonderful wife where presented with honorary Native American medals for all the work and support that they do for the Native American missions.

Lastly, we saw some of Basil Gaynor fruit of the spirit when his eldest son Joseph Gaynor, spoke at the podium. Joseph's highlighted the relief trip to Hard Rock on the Navajo Reservation between Christmas and New Years.

It was a great day of celebration and worship. It was a day that saw the fruits of the labors come to pass. It was a day where we saw first hand, believers and their works come harvested.

Our thanks and prayers go out to all of you who support us either financially or spiritually and who made this wonderful event a day of celebration. Thank you for your support.

Below, please find the missions trip that the Indian Crusader participated in with the Greater Height Church Last April.

GREATER HEIGHT MISSION BIBLE CHURCH and
INDIAN CRUSADER visit the GOSHUTE TRIBE.

On April 4th our ministry joined with Greater Height Mission Bible Church, in Los Angeles on a four day mission trip to the Goshute Reservation in Utah. Our purpose was to show our support and concern for their physical, situational, and spiritual needs. Physically, the poverty is oppressive. Situational, the tribal members are divided over the money to be realized by allowing their reservation to become a nuclear waste site. Spiritually, there is no Christian church.

With this before the tribe, we sought to meet these needs with a truck of relief goods, our friendship, and a pledging to pray for the tribal leadership.

The highlight of the trip was the 4 hours we spent with Sammy Blackbear the tribal vice chairman, and his two teenage daughters.

We learned how the former leadership misused funds - about the court action the tribe has taken against the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s action to take control of the nuclear waste site - and how the Bureau of Indian Affairs has intervened because of physical violence among tribal members. We were able to encourage Sammy that he was God’s man for a time such as this. We believe our Divine appointment with Sammy was to call him out as God’s lightning rod for action. We pledged to pray and intercede through his advocate, Jesus Christ, for God’s full knowledge and understanding in the days and months ahead. On Sunday April 28th we gathered at the Greater Height church to unite in prayer over new concerns for Sammy and his family’s safety. We would covet your prayers on behalf of Sammy and the Goshute tribe.
