Members of the Chickasaw Nation and Elders from other tribes where also on hand to witness this historic launch. |

Trying to get his legs back from Outer Space. Commander John Herrington, a Chickasaw Indian seems to be looking for his legs after what he calls being on the “the Flight of my life.”. Herrington, the first registered Native American to go into space has the added pride of going on three space walks as part of the mission to repair the international space station.
